The Internet has become such a ubiquitous part of life you just use it without thinking. That is until you lose it. I’ve been a customer of Verizon FIOS now for years, I was one of the first customers in the Murphy, TX area to get the fiber pulled in. And to be fair until this week I’ve had two outages, one lasted a couple of hours when a backhoe decided to munch some fiber. The second was when my old converter on the back wall of my garage died, that took a day to get a repairman to replace it, mostly just to get an appointment, took the guy less then an hour to replace the old burned out unit.
So I click on the line to see what the outage is and I see:
Lovely so informative, the real fun part is that the estimate to repair is in less then 15 minutes, BUT every time the repair time expires it gets extended by 15 more minutes. Great just great.
I’ve called them and talked to a first level support tech whom was just as helpful, well it was supposed to be fixed yesterday but the repair team is still working on it. UGH what a mess. Soon I’ll be calling the local cable company to get an install time for connectivity from them. Not what I want to do but since I have no idea what the heck is wrong or a real estimate of when it will be fixed I don’t seem to have any choice!!!
